• "The art and music classes at Midsommar have been such a gift to our family! Art camp was a core memory, not only for the kids, but also for us adults! Loved that the variety of art projects and sensory activities were themed and had sustainability in mind. The activities inspired me and I now see opportunities for art, play, and learning everywhere in our home! Going through art camp actually made me a better caregiver to my daughter. The music classes introduce music in a play-based way with age-appropriate activities and songs, all intentionally chosen to highlight something different. The classes offered at Midsommar are great socializing opportunities for the little ones, and it's important for them to be surrounded by people that celebrate the process, not perfection. We love Midsommar!

  • "Midsommar Art & Music school is exactly what our local community needed. The teachers are incredible and do an amazing job teaching our kids to explore, create, and grow in themselves. My daughter looked forward to every day of her art camp and always had the biggest smile while she participated. Everything about this school has been carefully crafted to provide a nurturing, accommodating, and welcoming environment to all children and their families. I personally also really enjoyed going with my daughter to connect with the other parents and build this beautiful new community of friends. Trust me, this will be a local favorite for sure."

  • "My child has attended art camp and music class at Midsommar School and has greatly enjoyed both courses. The school has a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. At art camp, the teacher Emily positively engaged with each child, allowed the children to express their creativity in their own way, and taught various art techniques. Each project was unique and engaging. During music class, my child plays musical instruments, sings songs (that are different and ones I haven't heard before!), and participates in movement activities. Teacher Tess gives special attention to each child, creates activities that expose the children to a variety of music and instruments, and teaches the students new vocabulary. My child looks forward to attending each week and has been duplicating the activities at home between classes!

  • "I feel so lucky to have stumbled upon Midsommar School, an incredible gem in Redlands. Midsommar has provided an atmosphere that has been immensely enriching creatively, socially, and artistically for my almost five-year-old. Teacher Tess has put so much thought and care into Midsommar School, and it is evident in every detail. The studio and outdoor spaces are beautiful and inviting - welcoming both young and old to participate! My child has loved his weekly music classes, summer art camp, as well as movement classes. His only complaint is that we don't go to Midsommar every day! The community of families and friends that we have made there is everything I had hoped to find. We can't wait to continue making beautiful memories together!" -Anjelica B.

  • "Art Camp for my 3.5y/o son was the perfect week and we weren't ready for it to end. From the moment we walked around the corner to the open grass and opening project my son was excited to be there. The open environment of allowing the children to explore the materials, work on the opening project, or sitting on the blankets reading stories on the grass (my son's favorite) created a welcoming space. The flow of a story and intro to the lesson for the day created a sense of investment for the project. I laughed with owner Tess the art created this week wasn't going to get thrown away; legitimately I'm framing his printmaking because not only did he and I discovered how much he enjoyed that specific process but it's beautiful! Teacher Emily was so approachable and truly loved teaching art and made the process so much fun. It means a lot to me when my son is remembered by people he's learning from and simple things like remembering his favorite color or knowing he likes the books; the special touches Emily showed making sure he got his favorite color in rice dyeing or asking him to tell her his favorite story from a new selection of books everyday not only made him feel special and cared for; it warmed my heart. Thank you Tess and Emily for making this week so special for he and I."
