As the mom of a precocious 4-year old and recent re-transplant to Redlands, I found myself looking for art-specific enrichment opportunities in the Inland Empire that could allow both her and I to find community. An active and engaging community that valued authenticity as much as it did sustainability. Inspired by my Swedish culture that is rich in the arts (Sweden really swings above its weight class in music, I think!), and also a culture deeply committed to the environment, I decided to start Midsommar School. A space to gather like-minded parents who want a meaningful creative community for their families.

I want my daughter to create in ways that connect her to the planet, and I want her to make music in spaces that aren’t the stuffy multipurpose rooms of my youth - and I’m guessing you might want that for your littles too. With tremendous support from my family, I’ve established a Scandinavian inspired studio with immediate access to grass under those little toes and sunshine on those darling faces. Because fresh air is a creative force in it’s own right.

I welcome you to walk alongside me as we teach our littles that art can be found anywhere + created with anything, and that music is the language you speak, no matter where you come from.

If you too, feel that the arts allow us to connect with ourselves and with others, please come join us as we acknowledge + foster the innate creativity + musicality of every child.

Welcome, friend.

Having grown up in a music-rich household, I have been blessed to receive support in my pursuit of the arts from a young age. I was a music major in college (both piano and trumpet performance) before I switched to French (because that seemed more … useful?), and in 2020 made the transition from working and teaching in Higher Education to becoming a textile artist.

The arts have been pivotal to who I am and how I move about in the world. I am so excited to make music and art with you and your little ones!

At an early age, I gained a love of drawing from my architect father and a love of beauty in nature from my gardening mother. Although I worked in a more “practical” career as an ultrasonographer for many years, my innate love of art won over and I became an art teacher in 2019. I love to focus my lessons on creating, exploration, and making the process fun-focused. Often, creating just to create is more important for kids (and adults, alike!) than a perfected piece of art.

Diving into yoga takes me to new understandings and places that I can’t help but share with my community. I found my groove in Redlands through Vinyasa, my balance in Bangkok with Yin, and my calm in Zambia with Restorative.

I strive to make yoga accessible, welcoming, and fun for everyone. Yoga is not just about ‘cool’ poses and flexibility - it can helps kids understand their emotions and discover their bodies capabilities, and can help the chaotic-brained individual find some balance, calm, and acceptance. I can’t wait to share space with you!
